Hello there, my name is

Sarah Jaiyeola!

I am here to help if you are struggling with mental health problems. I am trained and accredited in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), with many years’ experience. I am warm and empathetic; I care for my clients and genuinely want the best for them.

What I do

Do you feel that you are struggling with feeling low or anxious? Is it hard to switch off from your thoughts?

Perhaps you suffer from low confidence, or you find social situations overwhelming.

I can help you to learn tools to improve and manage your mental health, to feel calmer and more in control of your mind and the situations you find yourself in day to day. I am warm, friendly and approachable and I will work with you as an equal, without making judgements.

I have been working in mental health for many years, I qualified in CBT in 2013 and in EMDR in 2015. I work both privately and for the NHS. I also provide supervision to colleagues and trainees.

You may be wondering if you would feel comfortable talking to a stranger about how you feel, or in fact how it would help. I fully understand and appreciate that the prospect of therapy can be daunting and that many clients come to therapy quite unsure of what to expect. However, once the process in underway, clients report a sense of relief that they can begin to explore their feelings in a non judgemental, completely unbiased environment. Talking to family and friends, whilst hugely beneficial, is often accompanied by their own emotional involvement. I myself have had therapy in the past, both at difficult times in my own life and as part of my training. I therefore have personal as well as professional insight into how it feels to engage in the process, and the benefits that it can bring.

My Services

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave.

We can often become stuck in vicious cycles in terms of our thoughts, behaviours and emotions. For example, imagine a person who is lacking confidence at work. They think that others are doing a better job, that they are not good enough, that they will be trouble at any given moment. This makes them avoid talking with colleagues, not take on challenging tasks and procrastinate. In turn, these behaviours feed the thoughts that they are not good enough.

CBT would help with breaking these cycles, to challenge and test out these negative thoughts and overcome avoidance. In turn, confidence is improved and low mood lifts.

My Services

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR involves talking and bilateral stimulation (ie moving from one side to the other, for example, following my finger back and forth with your eyes)

The aim is to reduce distress and negative beliefs associated with past overwhelming or traumatic experiences that are having a significant impact on our mental health. Memories could be from childhood experiences or more recent events.
